STATEMENT OF DELIVERY AND CLAIMS

DELIVERIES

  1. J&L Furniture Service provides a delivery team of two men and an adequate size truck.
  2. The delivery team will deliver the products listed on the bill of lading to the designated destination.
  3. The delivery team will unpack the items and set them up in the desired location in the customer’s home.
  4. J&L Furniture Service is not authorized to move or rearrange any existing furniture in the customer's home.
  5. If an item does not fit through the customer’s door frame or in their home, please contact your sales person or the store where you made the purchase before you refuse delivery. The delivery team can place the item at a different location in the customer’s home or in the customer’s garage.
  6. If the set-up location is inaccessible through normal and customary measures and as a result the delivery cannot be accomplished, the customer remains responsible for payment of the entire bill.
  7. By employing J&L Furniture Service, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:
  8. There is a risk of damage to the delivery item(s) or customer’s property during the delivery process. If any damage occurs, please note it on your bill of lading.
  9. Valuation protection, if any article is lost, destroyed or damaged while in the delivery process, the item will either be repaired or restored to the same condition as when received by our company, or pay you the cost of the article.
  10. The carrier or delivery company shall not make delivery or labor without payment and other lawful charges.
  11. The delivery company will notify you at least 48 hours prior to delivery of your shipment unless it is a dedicated or express delivery service requested by the customer.
  12. All merchandise is uncartoned and inspected prior to loading, pieces are then cartoned or wrapped in furniture pads.
  13. Orders canceled or picked up by customers will be subject to a fee, please contact the J&L Furniture Service office for the fee.

CLAIMS

  1. The customer is responsible for inspecting all above merchandise.
  2. Once inspection is complete, the customer is to sign the bill of lading and agrees that J&L Furniture Service is not liable for any damage or defect to customer’s property otherwise noted on the bill of lading.
  3. The delivery company will remove any trash or packaging during the delivery process.
  4. J&L Furniture Service is not responsible for any items returned to stores or manufacturers for defective items.
